Australian Marine Conservation Society
The Australian Marine Conservation Society (AMCS) is Australia’s only charity dedicated exclusively to protecting our seas. We are a group of passionate professionals who work to protect our threatened species, make our fisheries sustainable and create marine parks where our ocean wildlife is safe from harm.
Our strong track record includes campaigned for the world’s largest network of marine reserves, stopping oil drilling on the Great Barrier Reef and campaigning for its protection in a World Heritage Area, protecting WA’s Ningaloo Reef, stopping legalized live shark finning by Australian fisheries. We also produced Australia’s Sustainable Seafood Guide, which gives responsible ocean lovers a tool to choose seafood wisely.
