Caloundra is one of Queensland's favourite family beach holiday destinations with patrolled beaches at Dicky and Kings Beach and the sheltered water of Bulcock and Golden Beaches.

Fishing and outdoor sport enthusiasts are well catered for with excellent fishing conditions and water sport facilities at Pumicestone Passage.

Caloundra has the relaxed atmosphere of a small coastal town but boasts the amenities of a city with schools, medical facilities, a library, the Civic Centre and sporting complexes including one of the state's best racetracks, Corbould Park. It also has a wide range of accommodation from caravan parks through to luxury resorts.

Major industries in Caloundra include tourism, clothing manufacturers, boat, coach and aircraft manufacturing, building supplies and small goods.
