CAUSTIC COCKTAIL

I am in a position to see reports of dive "incidents" occuring during courses.
A recent incident quoted the student as having experienced a "caustic cocktail".
I could not find anything to clarify what this is. Has any one heard of such a thing?

It is a term used for when water gets into the CO2 scrubber of a rebreather . An alkiline solution will enter the mouth of the diver and the best thing to do is to use the alternate airsource, abort the dive and rinse the mouth thouroughly with salt or fresh water.
