Bringing Scuba Cylinders to Perth

Hi there

I wonder if you can help me, I am coming to Australia from South Africa in the near future and I would like to know if I can use my 3 Scuba tanks over there. I have 2 Faber 7L 300bar and 1 Luxfer 7L 200b. All tanks have been tested this year in South Africa.

Hi JosephE,

I'm not gonna try to hijack your post but I have just joined this forum and have the same question, hopefully somebody will help us.

My bottles are Faber steel European Spec EN250 Will I be able to get air fills and Visual & hydro tests.

Many Thanks in advance.

My best guess is that you can use them here but you will almost certanly have to get them re-tested here before anyone will fill them for you, both Faber and Luxfer are common over here.

Happy bubbles.

99.9% of places that test tanks will only test them if they are stamped with an Australian Standard you may bring your tanks over and use them here however when it comes time to service them you would have to get them through Australian Standards a process that is both long and costly. So my suggestion to you is to sell the tanks before you come out less weight more money better trip you can always hire when you get here or buy. hope this helps
