DEEP Indonesia 2007, Indonesia’s First International Diving, Adventure Travel and Watersport Exhibition, has made significant progress in ensuring the success of the event by adding key supporting stakeholders :
- PADI CONFIRMS PARTICIPATION
The Professional Association of Diving Instructor (PADI) Asia Pacific has recently agreed to support DEEP Indonesia 2007 and will occupy a 54 sqm stand in the exhibition
- OFFICIAL AND SUPPORTING PUBLICATIONS NOW CONFIRMED
Scuba Diver Australasia Magazine, which is the official publication of the PADI Diving Society, has been appointed as the official magazine for DEEP Indonesia 2007. Supporting national and international publications are National Geographic Indonesia Magazine, Hello Bali, Jakarta Java Kini, Jalan-jalan, Tamasya, Action Asia, DivePhotoGuide.com , Sport Diving Magazine, Underwater. com.au and X-Ray Magazine.
- INTERNATIONAL PHOTO COMPETITION ORGANISED
DEEP Indonesia 2007 together with DivePhotoGuide.com and Wetpixel.com will host a world class international photo competition with over $20,000 in prizes! Photographers will compete in 7 categories to win premium dive travel packages to some of the top photo destinations in the world, photo equipment, dive gear and more! Dive packages include trips to: Wakatobi, South Africa, Vietnam, Malaysia, Bali, Palau, Philippines, Grand Cayman and the Red Sea! The contest includes a category for images that focus on conservation and the marine environment, one specifically for entries taken by compact digital cameras, and one specifically for Indonesian entrants.
o As with all Wetpixel & Divephotoguide competitions, 15% of entry proceeds will be donated to marine conservation efforts.

- CONFIRMED PARTICIPATION STEADILY RISING
The Indonesian Culture & Tourism Ministry, Indonesian Subaquatic Sports Association (ISSA), PADI, Absolute Scuba, Asia Digital, Bali Spearfishing, Bagus Marine Diving, Ena Dive Center, Nusantara Diving Center, Oceanic / Planet Diving, Odyssea Divers and Ody Dive are among the confirmed participants.
- OTHER SPECIAL EVENTS
DEEP Indonesia 2007 in cooperation with Michael AW, founding director of OceanNEnvironment, an Australian based environmental charity, will host a number of special events including :
- Film Festival. Michael AW will contribute award winning films from Celebrate the Sea for the audience.
- Children Painting competition: age group: 5 to 10 and 11 to 15; theme is “I love Sharks”
- Michael AW will also present a session with the topic : Beyond Ordinary Locations…Beyond Ordinary Images: which will focus on some of the best diving destination in the world with tips on underwater photography:
- Michael is an internationally recognized underwater photographer who has authored a number of books highlighting his photography. He has also co-authored and photographed for TANAH AIR, bio-diversity of Indonesia. His books include
“ Beneath Bunaken”, “Celebrate the Sea” featuring the best of his works since 1990 and “Richest Reefs of Indonesia”
- And SPECIAL SEMINARS
Deep Indonesian 2007 will host a series of seminars to run concurrently with the exhibition that will feature presentations from related government bodies / associations and commercial groups that provide products and services to the industry. Some of the planned seminars that are scheduled include :
- The development of Indonesian’s Ocean tourism market
o Hosted by Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Indonesia
- Promotion of underwater environment and conservation of marine resources
o Hosted by Ministry of Environment of Indonesia
- Underwater Photograpy Course
o A two days course and workshop for UW photographer enthusiasts presented by Indonesian UW Photographer Makarios Sukojo and Cipto Aji Gunawan
- Underwater Videography Course
o Presented by Cipto Aji Gunawan, a PADI Course Director
- Health related to diving
o Hosted by Indonesian Sub Aquatic Sport Association
