Photography Tips

Hi there..i have an enquiry regarding filters. I've just started taking underwater photographs and am using a Canon Proshop 1 and 6144 Ikelite Housing. I want to get a red filter, but I don't know whether the filter goes on the camera or the housing? There are some amazing photographers in the underwater.com community..can some of you point me in the right direction? This model camera (and I;m assuming housing) is obsolete..but i'm hoping that the lens sizes don't vary much and I can still get a filter that fits.

Thank you, Hilary

Hi Hilary,

The best bet is to use a UR-PRO filter which you just screw onto the thread of your ikelite housing (should be 67mm ?) on the outside once you are underwater.

Have a look at the UR-PRO filters in the UW shop http://www.underwater.com.au/product.php/id/URPRO001/

Hope that helps.

Tim

As most of you know I am an instructor and we teach open water students the basics in confined water. Well I, along with a lot of others, utilize the local pool before going to the bay for the open water component. My little adventure takes place during one of those pool sessions.
