Many hundreds of rusting shipwrecks lie on the bottom of the ocean floor along the southern New South Wales coast, some in shallow water, whilst others are in deep water way beyond the reach of recreational scuba divers. Over the years, literally hundreds of wrecks involving passenger vessels, colliers, migrant clippers ships and privately owned vessels have gone to the bottom. The vast majority of these have involved ships of minor importance with almost no loss of life. Then, there are those that have gripped the attention of all Australian's.
